A slight delay

I know you’re counting on this to go live at exactly 3pm PT. 1 minute from now.
It’s embarrassing to say that, try as we might, it’s going to take a little longer.
And I’m noticing that this blog is having problems loading too!

Is a little longer a question of seconds? Minutes? Hours?
Clearly the hordes of us vying to get the free offer for the first hundred are hammering your system pretty hard, but what can I say? It’s a great deal.

Bookwyrm, I REALLY wish I could say it’s 3 minutes from now. In fact, I just wish it simply went live 19 mins ago as we promised you!

I hate to bug anyone, I know you guys are having a hard time with the big load. I’m just wondering whether it will be soon enough that I should keep sitting in front of my computer? Or is this like a go vacuum the living room, get a sandwich kind of wait?

I understand the Ponoko’s Team frustration, but you all have been in the tech field long enough to KNOW that these types of launches slam the system hard. So this is NO surprise and that you are not prepared for it says a lot.

Greg - we hear you loud and clear. As I say, this is embarrassing.
We’ve tested this roll out many times. And in 5 tests this morning, anomalies appeared. Meaning it rolled live successfully 5 times - it took 14 minutes at one extreme, but 42 minutes at another. Unreliable.
So to counter this we decided to roll it live at 1:30pm PT (90 minutes ahead of schedule). But no.
So here we are. Annoyed that we’re letting you down. It’s NOT what we’re about. So yes, there will be a level playing field for everyone to be in the first 100.
More as soon as I know more …
